Chand Minar, Maharashtra

Chand Minar is a tower next to the Daulatabad/Devagiri Fort in Maharashtra, India. The town has an incredible history – in 1327 AD, Muhammad bin Tughlaq named this town as the new capital of the Delhi Sultanate, and ordered the entire population of Delhi to relocate to Daulatabad (a distance of nearly 700 miles!). Only 7 years later, he reversed his decision and moved the capital, along with the populace back to Delhi.
